DNTRP and Dynamic Disqualification
All Sections in the United States Tennis Association have operated under the Dynamic NTRP (DNTRP) system, that generates player ratings with each match played in specified leagues, since 2003.
General Information about Dynamic NTRP
A dynamic rating is a rating associated with a player that has the potential to change with every match played by the player. Match results from the USTA Adult Divisions (18 & Over, 40 & Over, 55 & Over) and USTA Mixed Divisions (18 & Over, 40 & Over) will be calculated as they are completed and ratings for players will be generated based on the scores. These ratings are not published for general viewing.
Dynamic Disqualification
Dynamic ratings will be calculated for all Adult and Mixed National Championship Advancing League Division players during local league competition and at every level of championship competition including National Championships to determine if any players have reached the NTRP Dynamic Disqualification criteria stated in the USTA NTRP Computer Rating System Procedures. Players subject to NTRP Dynamic Disqualification, as described in the NTRP Dynamic Disqualification Table (USTA National League Regulations) will be dynamically disqualified if they reach the disqualification level three times based on all matches except retirements received.
The team captain or the disqualified player may request a review by submitting the “Review of Dynamic Disqualification” form. Reviews are based solely on missing or incorrect data reported in TennisLink. Players who are disqualified from competing at their current level may continue to participate on a team at a higher level for the remainder of the league year.
